Information about using this website, accessing the facilities and getting support.

Development website · For Necsa review

These proposed website statements are prepared for client review. Necsa must confirm the final terms, privacy notice and facility policies before launch. Do not submit sensitive research or personal documents during demonstration testing.

Website terms

Terms of use

This development website introduces the Necsa Beam Line Centre facilities and demonstrates registration, proposal and booking workflows. Information on the website should be checked with the User Office before making research or travel arrangements.

Responsible use

Use your own account, keep your password private and keep your contact and institutional details current. Provide accurate information and upload only material you are authorised to share. Do not attempt to access another person’s account, disrupt the service or introduce harmful content.

Proposals and bookings

Creating an account or submitting a proposal does not confirm facility access or beam time. A booking request requires an approved proposal and remains subject to the User Office’s confirmation. Demonstration records do not represent real allocations.

Content and external links

Respect the rights attached to text, logos, photographs, brochures and research material. A link to another website does not mean its terms apply to Necsa or that Necsa endorses all its content. Check the relevant owner’s permissions before reusing material.

Personal information

Privacy

The User Office portal includes account and contact details, institutional information, research proposals and booking requests. Provide only information needed for your enquiry or application, and avoid unnecessary sensitive personal information in free-text fields or uploads.

For questions about your information or to request a correction, contact useroffice@necsa.co.za. Do not send passwords by email or through the feedback form.

Before launch: Necsa must approve a complete privacy notice covering the responsible party and Information Officer, processing purposes and lawful grounds under applicable South African data protection requirements, recipients and service providers, retention, international transfers, user rights and complaints procedures.

Cookies

Sign-in and account functions may require browser cookies to maintain a session. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in from working.

External websites and embedded services may have their own cookie notices. A final cookie inventory and any required preference controls must be checked before launch, including whether analytics or other optional services are enabled.

Facility access

User policies

Discuss instrument suitability, sample requirements and proposed work with the User Office before planning a visit. Follow the facility instructions and any access, safety or training requirements supplied for your approved experiment.

Confirm arrangements for sample transport, hazards, confidential work, research data, intellectual property, publications and any charges directly with the User Office. This demonstration website does not set those institutional policies or replace an approved agreement.

Access for everyone

Accessibility

Our aim is to make the User Office website clear and usable across devices and assistive technologies. The current design includes responsive layouts, labelled form controls, image descriptions and a skip-to-content link. A full accessibility audit has not yet been completed, so no formal conformance claim is made.

If a page, form or brochure is difficult to use, email useroffice@necsa.co.za or call +27 12 305 5038. Include the page address, the problem and the format or assistance you need. You can also use the user feedback page.

Third-party documents and services may have different accessibility features. Contact the User Office if you need help accessing them.
